86, 460, Cranks Then Sometimes Starts
86, 460, Cranks Then Sometimes Starts
86 F350
460 CARB'D
Walk out in the morning to start it and it will start fine,
Run it for 10 minutes onward to 4 hours and shut it off and there is a 50/50 chance that it will start again.
Crank it over and when I let off the key, it will backfire/sound like it is trying to turn over, when the key gets to the nuetral position.
New Dist. cap, coil, plugs, and wires.
When the truck doesn't start I pull it with the tractor and it starts right away.
Any help?
Thanks

Woo Hoo, I bet you have a Holly 4180-C carburetor.
Sounds like the electric choke or a fuel vapor problem.
Look online or have your dealer print these Technical Service Bulletins

I will try to find more info on those online but the is open when I try to start it, I will also close it and try to start it but the same thing happens. it is like it isn't getting spark or a sensor is out.
Thanks,
