Odometer Question

Yesterday when I started my 2003 F150 with 10,000 miles, the odometer had an additional 0 (Zero) in the far left position. Does anyone have any idea what this is for? It was not there prior to yesterday.

By adding another 0 Ford gives us the illusion that the truck is reaching 100,000 miles. Simple marketing to get you to buy the '04 F-150.

Except that where the Zero is it would be for the 1,000,000 mile reading. It's a Zero, then a blank, then the 10,000 reading.

Talking

I'm just messin with ya pcouch.

The numbers on the right of the space is the total mileage as you know.

The zero on the left is the Arrears Counter.
The zero indicates you are not behind in your payments.
A 'one' would indicate you are one month behind.
If you see a 2 or 3 show up, put the pedal to the metal, don't look in the rearview mirror and if you do have to park it, take it to your sister's house or anywhere besides where you live.

Look close and see if any bugs crawed up in there. We have a kitchen stove and some ****-roaches crawed up into the display where the clock is. Sounds like you have a 100,000 position ****-roach problem...

By the way, any blinking digits might indicate a lightning bug instead of a roach...

Looks just like the picture, except a Zero where the 9 is.

Does your truck have an odometer test mode?

Thats the trip odometer, you can see the decimal. Is this problem on you actual mileage odometer or trip?

This is a re-touched picture of the odometer where I cut a 9 out and pasted it in the first position. I used another tool to spray out the 4 since I really have 49700.0 miles and YES, my mileage odometer has a decimal and tenths of miles position...

Pcouch, the odometer is 6 digits, then the decimal point, then the single digit for tenths of a mile. My '02 Lariat is like that.

My odometer insisted I call it "Beelzebub"...until yesterday. Now they want to be called "Legion".
