sensor

I know this sounds stupid, but I dont have a servis manual, so can someone tell me what the sensor is that is on a connector on the underneath side of the hood on an f150 1999?

Aren't all the sensors underneath the hood? Please be a little more specific.

sounds like the mercury switch for the hood light. but i'm just guessing. it's a big hood.

Sensor

On my vehicle, there seems to be only one and there is no light. Facing the front, its slightly to the right and rear of the hood. The hood has a double wall and it goes into this cavity.

It's probably the connector for the light...

can you post a picture of it?
