Getting a check engin light, a friend used his scanner and the 1451 code came up.

I have read this is an "Evap. Emission Control Sys. Vent Control Valve Circuit Malfuntion"

Ok what does this mean? What part need replacment? where is it located?

Tnx.

Jim

This code pinpoints a malfunction in your Canister Vent Solenoid. I'm not sure of the exact location on a 4.6, but the solenoid looks like a black 35MM film canister and it has a evap like going to the bottom with a right angle rubber boot and an electrical connector running to the side. The solenoid has what looks like a cap with slots in the top arranged like a castle. It may be near your power brake booster, but I don’t have any pictures or a 4.6 to reference. Make sure you have voltage running to the connector and make sure the evap line boot is secure. Hope this helps.
