anyone w/5.4 and 195 thermostat

Using the digital temp reading through the odometer, what is your typical temp in celsius? Under normal and wot conditions?

Cool

HI!... All 5.4's except the LIGHTNINGS have a 195 stat stock. The temp reading you get throught the digital odometer function is cylinder head temp, NOT coolant temp.

How do you get it to the point it is reading temp anything? My 2000 4x4 doesn't do that I can tell.

My engine temp with the 195 thermostat is 200F or
93.33 C This is by reading it through a scanner plugged into the diag port.

Thanks for the reafirmation on the info. Some people are running cooler thermostats, so I wanted someone who is stock to give me a referance. I'm not looking for exact numbers.

Shouldn't the temp reading be lower with a cooler stat?

with a cooler thermostat your temp. will be cooler.,but your engine is running its' most effient at 190 to 210. Though at 210
eng. seals and gaskets tend to dry out quicker.

I've got a blower, so I switched to a 180.
