Question 6.0 Excursion reliability

Am considering a new Excursion 6.0...though have heard rumors of possible problems with the set-up...can anyone give me an idea as to reliability. My 97 7.3 has treated me well for 98k,..only the fuel pump needed to be replaced. Was briefly considering a Hummer H2 but see nothing but problems posted on their forum...I need a reliable ride. Thanks. Ed...also, any way to disengage the passenger air bag ?... does ford have the option to do so as GM has?

i can't say for the excursion, i sat in one once and wanted it so bad i won't get in a new one (my 13,000 square foot town house cost less) i'm jelouse but the 97-99 F150 and expy's came stock with the pass bag cutout. takes the ignition key to turn it off and on. and i believe it's stock on all the newer modles to.

Actually Ford's only have the airbag deactivation switch available on regular cab and xtra cab F150's. DOT states that any vehicle without a full size back seat needs to have an airbag deactivation switch. Expeditions and Excursions never had that switch because they have always had a full size back seat.
