Question Compression Test

CAN ANYBODY TELL ME HOW TO DO A COMPRESSION TEST FOR A 97 F150 4.6L V8?,
I HAVE A SMALL SEEP COMING OUT OF MY DRIVER SIDE HEAD GASKET AND I WANT TO TEST TO SEE IF THE LEAK HAS REACHED THE CYLINDERS SO I KNOW HOW SERIOUS THE PROBLEM IS, THE TRUCK RUNS GOOD, BUT THE DEALER FOUND THIS DURING AN INSPECTION. ANY IDEAS OR COMENTS WOULD BE GREAT.

I felt like yelling too when my 5.4 with less than 40k developed the right head gasket leak.

Screw in compression gauges with a long hose on them should work fine for such.

I think I would get the gasket replaced. I did mine. I believe leaking head gaskets don' t get better until replaced and at the cost of a new head should the damage get beyond the normal leaking head gasket on these engines the cost to repair would be significantly higher the the 1700 dollars it cost me to get mine replaced.

Good luck with what ever you decide to do.
