I have a 2002 screw, but it has the 5.4L. I put 22's on and it slowed the truck down dramatically, so I put a granatelli mass air flow sensor on it and it helped out extremely! I also put an intake (K & N) of course, hypertech programmer, and 2 1/2" flowmaster cat-back system on. Besides the programmer, the MAS helped out the most though. Hoped this helped.

thanks for the info but how much was the cat-back system muff and pipe? i went to a local muff shop they installed single 3" pipe all the way with a V-Force muff thats equivulant to a cat-back system. paid only $169.00 sounds just like flow master but gain me 8 hp. i do have the hypertech programmer also. but so far i'm not satified need more power i do feel the torque. 98 f150 4.6l 4x4 extcab xlt see my pics (divewithtom) gallery

The exhaust cost $400, but that was $85 for the 3 1/2 inch x 18 inch stainless steel exhaust tips. I don't know how much HP I agined with them but not much, I put them on the same day I got the truck. Get a programmer, it is worth the money ($300).
