Question 4.2 to 4.6

ok I have a 2000 F150 with a 4.2 v6, 2wd,- I also have a totaled 2000 f150 4.6 v8 4wd. I want to know wut all i have to do and if i can swap the 4.2 and the 4.6 also to change my 2wd to a 4wd by using the 4wd stuff on the totaled truck! Real like to know this if neone could help!!!!!!!Thanks!

Depends on what you mean by totaled. If the 4X has a bent frame then I would be at a loss. If the frame and mechanicals are good then I would pull the cab from th 2X and put it on the 4X. sounds like work but would be easier than trying to move suspension parts and swapping engine, engine control components and the like.

IMO, you are far better off to sell both trucks 'as is' and use the proceeds to buy the best truck you can afford.

This will save you LOTS of your time. Plus it may be very hard to sell your 'frankentruck' if you ever decide to sell it.
