Exclamation Engine Strain With Heat On

Whenever I put the heater on, something kicks on under the hood. And it puts a strain on the engine. The thing is, it kicks on for about four seconds and shuts off for about ten seconds. It doesnt do that when the heat is on 'panel'. Someone mentioned that it could be the air conditioning compresor or something like that. The heat and air conditioning work perfectly fine. Im not sure if it does that when the AC is on.
Thanks alot. Has a standard transmission.

It is probably the A/C. The A/C is on for hot and cold on most positions. Set it to blow on the floor only and see if it still has your symptoms. A/C does not come on while set to blow at floor.

It is the AC compressor. It is used as a dehumidifier when the heater is on defrost or any combination that includes the defrost to help keep the windows clear and from icing up

Angry No strain on panel

The only position where there is no strain, is on Panel. There is a strain on Floor. Why would a noticable strain be clicking on and off like that?? Thanks

That is how the a/c works. It cycles on and off. The added stress of the compressor is your strain. My a/c is off on floor for sure cuz it sometimes pisses me off that I can't blow cold air on my feet.
