My 1994 V8 5.0L 302 gets 10 MPG around town...... is that typical?? Or do others with the same engine enjoy better mileage??

My '92 ,302, 1/2 ton 4x4 ,with 8' box and 31x10.5 tires
averaged 17 mpg, highway; 15 mpg city summertime and 13mpg
city in the winter time.(-30)
I drive faster than average, but don't race light to light . My dad has a '95 with a 302 he gets 15 mpg highway 13 mpg city but he has a 3" lift on his truck running boards and a boat rack.

maybe it's time to do a tune up and clean your injectors if you
havn't done one in a couple years you should be able to get a couple more mpg.
