Thermostat hmmmm

Hey guys I was cleaning my throttle body, drained radiator, so with it removed I figured what the hell I might as well replace the t-stat while I have the radiator drained... Well I got the hoses off, and got the top bolt off but theres a bottom bolt buried under everything, I tried getting @ it with a regular wrench but it was just stripping it, its too small a space to get a socket in there... the dam a/c compressor mounting bracket and water pump are in the way... O its a 86 F150 302 v8 EFI, what do ya guys think?

Ford engineering at itss best. You can pull the A/C compressior out of the way without breaking the A/C lines. Just unbolt the compressor and lay it off to the side.

ECM should be right front kick panel. Diag. connector is right side fender almost at the firewall. You can follow the spout connector from the dist. to the wire harness and eventually run into it

Thanks again Pestco found the diag connector, right behind the battery, I must have looked @ it a thousand times and didnt think anything of it.... Well my ongoing sagga continues... I got the therm changed... put all the top end of the engine back together, now all I have to do is put the fuel tanks back on and change the fuel filters... one thing though the guy @ napa said there should be a canister filter on it... but the only canister looking thing on there was the fuel switcher valve where all the lines from both tanks come together... so I try getting the bottom to screw off with an oil filter wrench, and baam it snaps, now I need to buy a new $160 piece of equipment... ahhhhhhhhhhhhh well I searched everywhere and couldnt find anything else along the fuel line that looked like a canister... so Ill give up on that filter right now... I found the other filter though =) anyway does anyone know if my truck was even equipped with a canister type filter? its a 86 F150 EFI 302 v8... Thanks guys u r lifesavers

Don't know if it is the same but my 99 has one on the driverside next to the frame. Hope this helps.
