1994 F150 302 Starts and runs till hot

I have a 1994 f150 with 302 V8. About a week ago the engine started cutting out. It would cut out for a second and then start running again. It has gotten to the point that it will completely quit. You can crank it but it won't start. If you let it set for a while it will usually start but won't run for over a few seconds...unless it sits for an extended amount of time. When it wouldn't start i checked the wire coming from the coil to the distributor and there was no spark there. I replaced the coil and the control module that mounts on the fender well and it didn't help at all. I can hear the fueld pump come on when you turn the ignition on even when it won't start. Don't know if it is a coincidence or not but my signal lights and cruise aren't working either. They're on the same fuse and I changed it and it didn't help.

Thanks

Prob. the ign module. If you lose spark and injector pulse than it is a given. Very common for them to have a problem when they get warm. Engine will run cold but once it gets hot the module shuts off.

My distributor does not have the module inside of it. It is on the fenderwell. I replaced that one. At Advance Auto Parts it was called the ignition module.

Did the fuse pop again when u replaced it? if the cruise signal etc. arent working I would inspect the wiring. Also are there any troublecodes? Im not to familiar with the distributor or ignition system on these trucks but some trucks get signals from the distributor that tell the PCM when to fire the ignition coil. If these wires are loose corroded or distributor has a problem, there will be no spark from the ignition coil...

That is the module I was refering too. They moved it from a dist mount to the fender to protect it from excessive heat just because ofthis very problem. It still has a pick up inside the dist.. Sometimes the pick up will develop an open when it gets hot and things start to expand. you can sometimes loook at it and see if the plastic/rubber it is made out of is cracked or deteriorated. You can also use a blow dryer on the module while the truck is running. If after you heat it up the truck stalls, you have a pretty good idea whats going on
