Rear main itself would not have much to do with engine performance other than to indicate a high milage situation. If you get engine oil comming from the small drain notch in the bell housing then you can bet its the rear main.

Pestco help please

Pestco,

This may be up your alley...The vacuum lines going to TAD EGRC selenoid set are melted, have been looking for some at junkyards no luck yet...these are hard plastic lines with elbow connectors for 87 F150 302 EFI. Can some other line be substituted without collapsing?

Thanks Goldenfeather

On my 86 302, all the vacuum lines are in a wiring loom, if there is none go pick up a cheap one @ the local autoparts store it should help with melting vacuum lines, also make sure there routed properly

O one more thing on my 86 the power steering fluid was gushing out everywhere, then I noticed one side of the cap was busted, replace the cap and no more leaks. Just somethin else to check.

You can use regular rubber lines no problem. Ford loved those hard plastic/color coded things. I used to save the ends and as much of the plastic going into them. Then slide the rubber over the plastic and run it where it needs to go. If you need to though you can certianly use just rubber
