Question Pedal rumble???

Fellas,

I bought this 2000 Expy XLT Sport a few months ago and thought this may be normal, but there seems to be a rumbling or some sort of shaking in the gas pedal when I step on it. Nothing when I brake, just accelarating. The vehicle is great, rides nice, but that's getting on my nerves!

Any suggestions to what it could be? What can be done? How much?

Also, there must be a loose piece in my sunroof or something. Everytime I hit a bump I can hear it, and that also drives me crazy.
I think it's stuck in my headliner now!
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks...

Oh yeah, it's a 5.4L...

Go to the dealer. It happened on my 03 Screw. They did two things in my case.

1. Re-routed the throttle cable. (It was near the engine and picked up vibration).

2. Got a brand new pedal. From a HD too boot! So I have a unique accelerator pedal in my Screw!

Hope this helps,

Jag

the gas pedal is merely attached at a pivot point in the middle and a cable on one end and a pedal on the other. there are no motors attached to it. now the cruis control is attached at the Throttle Body and could be causing it.

while the truck is running reach under the plastic throttle body cover and rev the engine to see if you feel the vibration in your hand or see the Cruis cable pulling/pushing against what you are doing.

these engines rumble quite a bit when pushed hard. its a good rumble!! you might want to make sure that you do not have anything stuck behind the pedal like an aftermarket floor mat or something.

do you know anyone else with an f-onefiddy or expy with a 5.4 that you can test drive?

can't help you on the sunroof.

Man! I can't find the problem...

The noise or rumble seems to be coming from right below my feet. It may not be the pedal, but whatever is under my floor!!!

Any ideas for what it could be?
