Oil lines going to the filter

I heard that after some time, the high pressure and low pressure lines should be replaced because they could leak. Is this true?

And if so, how long should you wait to change these because I have no leaking oil, but just heard about it from someone.

Not really sure what you're talking about but I'm gonna take a guess and say you're just talking about the oil lines running to a remote filter. If so, there is no high and low pressure line. They are both the same being what ever the system pressure happens to be, and that's all that is acting on them. (there may be a slight pressure differential or pressure drop across/within the filter but that would be too minescule for this discussion) One simply goes TO the filter and the other is FROM the filter. I wouldn't change them unless there was a problem. Nothing to be gained from it. Unless it's plain rubber hose and you wanted to with braided stainless or something like that.

Yes, You actually got it right on the head there. That's what I meant. If they just had to be changed every so often. Just someone said that there was high and low pressure ones. Oh well. Thanks for your response, clears things up for me.

I think the power steering has "high" and "low" pressure hoses??
