Broken Injector Connector

Help!!

I was changing my plugs last week and in the process broke one of the gray fuel injector connectors. I some electrical tape around it in the hope that it would help hold it on to the connector located on the engine. The truck was running bad before the plug/wire change, now it is running worse. It seems to be missing when a load is put on it (ie pressing on the gas). The CEL is on and occaisionally flashes.

Could the "miss" that I am feeling be caused by this connector? (It still seems to lock tightly into the plug). If so, can the connector be replaced, or do I have to replace the whole harness?

The truck is a 1997 4.6L 4X4. Mileage is 150000. I used autolite platnium plugs and put on two new upstream O2 sensors.

Thanks for any help. This is a great site!!1

I would double check the firing order.
I have access to some used harness' if you need a connector.

Change your wires if you haven't already. 150,000 is a lot for a wire set

Thanks!

I replaced the plug wires when I changed the plugs. I think I found the problem source last night. After dark I checked the wires for arcs and sure enough the wire for cyl. #2 is arcing wherever it contacts other wires or metal. I am going to try to get car quest to replace that wire to see if it fixed the problem.

Skillet, I may take you up on that connector offer if the wire change does not do the trick! I appreciate it.

Again, thanks!
