I have an 03 Supercrew w/5.4 and I noticed a ticking noise
around the right wheel opening too. Only when the engine is hot.
Can't hear it in the cab. Mostly @ idle outside. Dealer said it's
just harmonics and normal. Tried mobil 1-still loud. Went back
to motorcraft 0-20 & still the same. I guess I'll have to live with
the noise for a whiile & see if it gets worse. 5 year warranty.
Hope someone will post a thread if there is a tsb or recall. I'll
keep watching.
