FamilyRide, I do appreciate your sense of humor, it put a simle on my face!

ikeurner443, Interesting point, "Magical Fountain of Engine Youth"

I think the objective is to retain the smooth operating high hp output the engine has when it is new. It's not so much that the engine is still running for 200,000 miles for the next owner, but that it retains as much of the the new like operation every time I drive it no matter how many miles that is.

This site is all about mods to our trucks, and I suppose we could say that oil is a mod we all do to our trucks every 3k or so. We can stick with the same oil mod, or look into a different one.

It seems there is always another owner here looking into the various options on this mod, who starts a new thread looking for a few opinions to pick from. I also expect that there are many more who do a search, make a decision, and we never hear from them.

Oil is a popular mod, and a topic that generates interest. I look forward to the oil threads, in both reading and commenting. So much so that I think the site should have an "Oil and Gas" forum for our threads. I would even be happy to moderate it and think it would do well. It could include engine oil, trans oil, axle oil, grease, coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid. and even door hinge grease. I see it as the second most active fourm after the L forum. Just my opinion though.
