'97 5.0 swap
Anyone ELSE out there done a 4.2 to 5.0 swap?I just finished one into a reg cab stepside,and DANG it is hot.
If anyone's done this with a similar truck,lemme know what you did.
I took this thing,a 4.2 V6,5 speed(M5OD),3.08 open and turned it into a 5.0 4V,M5OD 3.55 Traction Lok combo.It uses a modified '81 motor that runs a Holley 600,a single point distributor(with Pertronix),a mechanical fuel pump,BBK equal length shorty headers,etc.
It retains the factory A/C and PS systems,has an Excursion 130 amp alternator,and overall looks very factory-ish.
If there's any others like this,drop me a line-I'd like to see different ways of doing this.(EFI,blowers,etc.)
