1991 f150 stalls at take off
1991 f150 stalls at take off
I just bought an older 91 f150 4x4. It's an automatic with a V8 5.0L.
The truck has been nothing but trouble from the day I bought it, and I can't believe I never noticed the problems when I took it for a test drive.
Either way, I have now had it for a week and it is starting to stall everytime I try to take off from a light. It seem to be idling ok, at about 700 RPM, but as soon as I take off, it boggs down and stalls. It also stalls everytime I go from reverse to drive, and really boggs down when I try and tackle a hill (even small ones).
It seems to do alright at higher speeds, without giving me too much trouble, other than when I'm going uphill.
I am not sure where to start, but I'm willing to try out a few differnet ideas if they are out there.
Thanks in advance
