Ok, Triton V-10 that starts and stalls immediately, when you turn the key the 2nd time, starts and runs fine?
Idle Air Control Motor sticking maybe?
39K miles.

 

It could be that. Try cleaning it.

Have you changed the fuel filter? Maybe not enough flow to keep it going?

 

Fuel filter was replaced at 30K per the maint book schedule.

 

It is easy to determine if the IAC is sticking.
When it won't idle, give the IAC a few good raps.

If it idles after you do that, then the IAC needs to be cleaned/replaced.

If it still doesn't idle...
then you need to beat the hell out of something else.

Unplug the IAC. If there is no change in the idle (because the IAC is not working) then it is the IAC.

Well, I guess you could do that if it stayed running or you put a brick on the gas pedal.

My test was for when the truck won't idle at all.

But I have no problem with adding a brick to my tool collection. It would be a very useful weapo...errrr.....tool.
