4.10 Gears in F150...Can you bald the tires?

I will be changing out my 3.55's for 4.10's.....
Anybody done it?
Could you tell a big difference?

Reason I ask is I've had two mustangs (1) 2000 GT and changed from 3.27's to 3.73's and could really feel the difference.
(2) 2001 Cobra and changed from 3.27's to 4.10's and it made that thing a rocket.

I have a wager with my bro who has a 2003 Dodge Hemiroid Ext Cab with 3.92's I am hoping that by adding 4.10's I should be able to hang with him from stoplight to stoplight even though he has me by 80 HP and 15 TQ!

We kinda raced the other day in the rain from a stoplight and I won! Of course me being the smart one (I drive a Ford.....Thus I am smarter) excellerated slowly until I was moving then goosed it but he on the other hand floored it and spent out, let off floored it again, let out, and basically had no traction....So I left him in the dust! Course had this taken place on a nice sunny day he probably would have left me sitting still because of the gearing he has! I can't have my older brother out running me....He's never had anything faster than me and I don't want to break this tradition!

I gave his old 96 318 Ram Truck a spanking back in 98 with my 351 Ext F150 and would love to do the same to his 03!

Help me out guys....Tell me with 4.10's I should at least hang with him...Then I can get a chip, cold air induction, underdrive pullies, trottle body spacer, and walk him like the RAMHEAD he is!

I don't think you will spank him with just 4.10s. Yes, they will make a difference, and I do suggest doing it. I changed my gears, but only put in 3.73s. With the chip, you should be able to beat him. By the way, is his hemi 4wd or 2wd? Let us know how you do against him in dry weather, with or without the gears.

Cool

HI!... I've had 4.10 gears in my truck now for over 4 years. I luv them. This is the way this truck should of come from the factory. 4.10's will help you against your buddies DODGE HEMI. If he has a reg cab HEMI then he will most likely still beat you. I've raced a few HEMI trucks in the last month or so and spanked them all by about 6-8 truck lengths. Their really no competion for me. l

Thanks Guys for the replies!

Yeah my brothers Truck is an Extended Cab 2WD so as far as weight goes we should be about even! I totally agree that these trucks should have come with 4.10 gears from factory, hell the supercrews come with 3.73's and it makes them faster than the Supercabs!

I do plan on getting a chip, I will be getting a custom burned, Dyno Tuned Autologic Chip once I get gears, Intake, Underdrive Pullies, Throtle Body Spacer, Cold Air Intake (Which I would suggest the MAC)Mac Performance Parts and of course the Magnaflow Catback!

I should then make Mince Meat out of him!
