Angry Powerstroke

Hopefully someone can give me some guidance on this. I have an 95 F-250 with the Powerstroke engine. The "water in fuel" light is on. I have put some water remover in the gas tanks and run it for about 40 miles. Should the light go out on its own, or does it need to be reset. If so, how do I reset it.

Thanks for any help

David

Sorry, I can't answer your question but you might want to check out www.thedieselstop.com as they specialize in the ford diesel. Sorry I can't help

Your powerstroke should have a water separator on it. The "water in fuel" light is probably signalling that the water separator needs to be drained. If the light does not go out after you drain the separator, try removing the neg cable for about 5 minutes to reset everything.

there's a valve somewhere in the engine compartment that you need to turn to drain the water out i believe....

the only reason I know about this is my buddy told me the story of how he had to drain the water from the fuel and he broke the valve off...

look at the fuel filter bowl - on the side there is a lever turn it 90 deg. and that will drain the bowl - u should also change the filter - if any water gets to the injectors they will go bad

if you have an owners manual read that too, may have a diesel suplement manual
