BTW,

I wasn't knocking 14.5 when I said this....That is awesome Quarter Mile time for our trucks! I would love to see 14.5's....probably very pretty hard with a supercab......You think with all the bolt on's I could see 14's?

Thanks,

Adam

Cool

HI!... Adam_01_F150 : I do everything on my truck myself except tranny rebuilds. If they don't make it for my truck I will design it and build it myself. lol! I built and fabricated up all my exhaust system using the KOOKS headers and MAGNAFLOW parts. I can't see why you can't get in the 14's with your SC. I'd do the following in this order.

- SUPERCHIP
- electric fans
- power pulleys (ASP)
- air filter kit
- exhaust
- 4.10 gears

Neal-

I know this is off topic, but I've been wondering for some time.

What oil make and viscocity do you use in your beast?

Thanks,

-Matt

Cool

HI!... It's always been VALVOLINE 10-W-30 for the last 4 years. I changed my oil to this after the truck was only one week old. I just had to get rid of that **** water stock FORD oil. I've gone through several oil filters in that time, but I'm sticking with the K&N oil filter now.

Neal,

The electric Fan is somthing I've just recently been reading about as a good mod for these trucks. Coming from a Mustang that already has them, I had forgotten that our trucks don't come with em. What kind of Fan should I look at, I've seen several some twin 16" and some twin 15", What brand is Best?

Also as far as doing the Chip first.....I would have to have it recalibrated for other mods afterward so I think the Chip should be the last MOD done as It will recalibrate for the gears, air/fuel, and would probably be the last mod I do. Also if you haven't checked out Steeda Autosports They make pullies for our trucks and I would pit their stuff against just about anybodies as being the BEST! They make alot of Mustang stuff and EVERYBODY loves Steeda Mustang parts! I only wish they made a timing ajuster for our trucks as they do the mustangs, then I probably wouldn't bother getting a chip!

I don't mean to insert myself in a question that was directed to Neal, but he was the one that (unknowingly) convinced me to go for the Mike Troyer Dual 16" kit. I just recently sold mine since I got the Mustang.

The Troyer kit (PPI) is well made, and is inexpensive compared to the FAL kit. Both are good, but I like the idea of redundant controls.

The instructions on Mike's kit are step by step with color photo illustrations, so removal and installation must be easier.

g.luck

PS- ASP makes a pair of pulleys that can't be beat. And there are no charging issues. Not sure about the Steedas (made for mustangs).

HI!... Adam_01_F150 : I would go with the PPI electric fan kit or do what I did 4 years ago and get 2 16" DERALE electric fans from SUMMIT RACING and get a PERMA-COOL electronic thermo controller. As for underdrive pulleys, go with the ASP. They are the best for our trucks and feild tested for many years now. I would still go with MIKE TROYER's SUPERCHIP 1st. I did and it knocked 6.3 tenths off my truck. 16.01E.T down to 15.38E.T.

Here's a few pics of my fan kit I put together.

Hi Neal-

Yup, I did trade in the F-150. The Head Gasket went out for the second time (in less than a month) at 19,500 miles. The dealer was going to take care of it under warranty, but I opted to get the GT.

1. I missed a stick shift.

2. I already had over $10,000. worth of front end damage from a tree falling.

3. Didn't want the headache of having the engine torn apart again. Ford said there was another leak somewhere else, so last I heard, they put dye in teh oil so that they could find the origin.

The 03 GT is a step up for me. The truck I had was an XL 4.6L (01). The GT is a "Premium" with leather and power all around, so I'm happy as heck with teh car. Also there is no piston slap or valve noise!

My Father still has his 97 Lariat. He's going to be rolling over 200,000 miles on his engine soon.

We're still a Ford family!

Best

-Matt
