Need Help Fast!!!
I may have made a big mistake. Earlier today i went mudding. It wasnt really even mudding it was just drivin thru big huge puddles. Well the sh*t hit the fan when i left the pit. It ran fine while it was in 4x4 and when it was first put back in 2x4. The truck started to shake at low rpms! When the rpms got higher it leveled off. I got it washed and got it home and took the air filter off and it was wet. Also i have a flow master muffler that dumps down at the axle. Somtimes you coud hear it gurgle when the tips would go in the water. But like stated above at low rmps the whole truck shakes but levels off at higher rpms. the ses light came on so i plugged in my micro tuner and and it said that there was a midfire in cylinder 2 and 6 i beleive it was. what could it be??? im goin to take it to the dealer ship tommorow morning i would just ike to know what to expect. Did i realy screw my truck up or could it be somthin as simple as getting sll the water out of the motor. Any help is appriciated.

i used to go mudding with my 2wd, never went into any huge pits, but would run fast thru mud and muddy puddles, one time i got done and i washed off the engine, after that the car started having all sorts of problems, took it in and had to have new sparkplugs, wires, 2 new oxygen sensors, pcv valve, injectors cleaned, major tune-up basically, cost me about $700 all together. i had almost the same problems.
that is my 2cents
that is my 2cents
P.S. my truck has never quite been the same, it shakes sometimes in idle, like something is off balance and it revs at 600-300 in idle. hopefully you will have better luck then i did, haven't gone mudding since.
Before you jump into the dealership pit take offroads advice and check out the ign. system. You don't say what year or how many miles but water in the engine compartment can cause older ign. wires to become resistant and arc to the block instead of firing the plugs. Do that enough and you can fowl the plugs and need to replace them. You already have a good idea which cyls. are not holding there own ( thanks to modern comp. tech.) why not pull one of the plugs and see how it looks. ( fuel fowled?? water in the plug well?? cracked porcelan??) might be a very simple secondary ign. problem fixed with plugs and wires.
mine did the same thing, but being the impulsive retard that i am i cut the cats.i was playin in some water when it flooded and it started doin it i went back to my uncles shop and looked under the truck saw a hole where it blew out a weld in the exhaust and saw that the cat was cherry red and thought it was clogged, cut em off still did the same thing, then i went to auto zone, misfire in #2 i pulled the plug it looked bad but i thought i might be able to make it work till i could get some money for new plugs,so i played with the coil packs for a while and got it runnin better, still misses a little at 1k but it's better then runnin on 7 cylinders, guess the cat was glowin cause of all the raw fuel gettin dumped in there,oh well, live and learn
Ok thats kinda what i thought it might be. It is a 2001 5.4 with 60k. This morning i started it to see if there was any difference and it seemed a little better and i walkex around the truck to see if there was any noticeable things. The only thing was that there was steam coming out of the exhaust and some liquid driping out. I got some of the liquid on my hands and it doesnt smell like gas or anything of that sort. Im about to call a shop where my grandmother works and see if they can tell me some more info.
thanks alot
