Oil change
oil filter
I have had the same problem on my f-150. We also have an expedition with a 4.6. The filter on it is not under the crossmember and is mounted up and down not sideways. It is very easy to remove with no mess. Why are are the trucks not this way?????????
The 4.6L is really easy to service. Didn't even need a jack most of the time. Just bought a 5.4L and haven't even been underneath it yet. I will get there this weekend and try to get the lay of the land. I prefer to do my own work but it has gotten to be cheaper ( and of course easier) to take it in. My dealer changes oil for $25 bucks. Costs almost that much to buy oil and filter for DIY. Then you have the used oil to deal with. I still do my own 75% of the time. Glad to be able to get some tips from everyone here. Thanks guys
Well it looks like this post was a great success. Hope that we all save some of you the headache on your 2x4 5.4 oild changes. NOw that I have done it, I dont think that I will have the mess to clean up next time. As mentioned before from someone else who had taken it to a shop, they have I am sure doen their fair share of 5.4's and have a system down. I had taken mine to a place for my first time also, and it did not seem to have any hiccups.
I am definatly interested in doing that relocation mod, so if anyone out there can email me that would be great.

Hey bigdeal, nice to see your set up again. We should get together and design a kit and sell it. How you think we would do??
