My gf has a 2000 grand am w/ the quad 4 on a 4yr gmac lease. We experienced intermittent misfire(by intermitent I mean light/heavy) I ran some fuel injector cleaner through it and changed plug towers and plugs as I thought it might have been bad gas. No avail. Take it to hte deler and they say we are gonna charge you for the repairs as it is out of warrant by 1 month(she has had it 37 months BUT WE STILL HAVE ONLY 34500 miles on the car) THey said they would do a injector flush and check the plugs etc, and if that didnt do it they would replace the injectors at our cost. I have found 2 tsb on the exact problem we are having should I fight gm into fixin it? I bought an injector(124 at shop cost!) and was going to replace it myself as we are goin out of town tomorrow but I can always rent a car for like 20 bucks a day and drive it. 40 bucks to rent a car would be cheaper than 124 plus my labor in replacin the injector. What do you guys think? BTW I figured and so did her family wehn they bought her the car it would be serviced at no charge for the 4yr lease.
