Question Supercharger Suggestion

I have a 2002 F150 4x4 FX4 SuperCab 5.4L Auto. I have no plans of doing any aftermarket mods other than a supercharger and computer chip so upgrading isn't really important to me. I want increased towing power and reliability. Can those of you experienced with superchargers please help with suggestions?
What is the best unit for stock and what is the max boost pressure to safely operate the 5.4 on?

Thanks

Go to the Kenne Bell web site. I believe theirs comes with a chip.

They also did some dyno testing. The only mods they found that added HP were headers (about 8) and cat back (about 1). They were challenged by a magazine who said their supercharger didn't increase HP by 40%. The magazine assumed that when you get a mod and it says increases HP "up to" 8 HP, that you get that amount. The Kenne Bell article says most mods don't add any HP. They proved the mods didn't add HP and the supercharger did add the advertised 40%. It was interesting. I know I will do a little more investigation now. Supercharger is just a little more than stage 2 or 3 performance kit.

It depends on what you want your truck to do. Most folks seem to be happy with a Kenne Bell or Allen if they want mostly low end power as they are a screw rotor type of design and the boost kicks in almost immediately. The centrifugal blowers like the ATI have an impellor style rotor and tend to kick in a little farther up in the rpm band. Look in the supercharger forum for Crash and Skid at Trixsters Playground, they are experts in the field and will steer you toward the best solution. You may want to read the posts of guys like Iron Horse, Zyg, 00expo, and several others to see how addicting and fun it can be.
