My truck is pretty fast. I run a 16.1 in the 1/4 mile with the 4.2. But the problem is no one makes any good parts for v-6's. you can find some stuff but everything is made for the 4.6 and 5.4. anyone know where and how much I could get a 4.6 or 5.4 engine for?

 

It'll probably run you some $$$. You might be able to find a Lightning engine on E-bay or something, but you'll be doing some wire-splicing. Remember the 4.2L is just a stroked 3.8L, so most anything that works on the Mustang/Thunderbird 3.8L will work on the 4.2L (or should at least)

Like Flea said it will run you some dollars. This has been discussed a few times on this forum. You'll need the computer and wiring harness for the engine and probably a couple of sensors. Also, might need a tranny to go with it. Not sure what comes with the V6. It would probably be cheaper to sell your truck and buy another one with the V8 already in it.
