engine hiss

engine hiss

I cant locate the hiss it comes in at about 4.5 to 5k rpm and sounds like an air hose with 40 psi opened up. iT IS ALSO MISSING SLIGHTLY AT 5K RPM AND OVER NOTHING REALLY BAD BUT STILL MISSING.

mY TRUCK IS 97 4X4 4.6 AUTO Jet chip,Iceman intake,MSD 8.8 wires,Motorcraft dbl plat plugs,Tornado.

Well its hard to give u a place to start without actually hearing the noise, but i would guess your aftermarket air intake to be the coulpret. I know they make a lot of noise and i would guess if they were gonna make noise, high rpm when its sucking in a crap load of air would be the time u would hear it. Cant help u on your miss though.

5000 + wow I would guess you would hear some air. Wouldn't suprise me if the miss is fuel related. All that air needs lots of fuel. The chip might be holding the injectors open but fuel pressure might be low or volume off because of a restricted filter.
Just a thought...
