went out after work to go home and the truck wouldn't start..
everything powered up but it just wouldn't turn over.
after a few times of trying the key it finally fired up.
its done this before, but the dealer said theres nothing they can do unless it does it to them.. any ideas?

I also noticed my odometer was turning on and off a few times tonite once it turned off for a minute or two. could this be a related problem?

 

sound like a starter relay problem maybe if it happens again open your hood and bridge the gap on your stating block and if it starts first try you know it on its way out. if not look else where.

a starter sylinoid could do this as well

 

It may be related to your PATS system. The reason why I say that is the dash may have a short in it, losing power and disrupting the PATS and odometer.
