E40D Tranny Problem

Hey...I have a '94 5.8 With the E40D Transmission. It slips so horribly, I can hear the sheetmetal on the fenders
tin-canning...That is popping in and out...it's really bad. It also shakes the dash, too. You can hear the clutches rattling, and the damn thing whines so loud, i've had a couple dummies ask if i was running a blower. I've heard the E40D is a reliable Tranny, But I mistreated it, and I know! I was curious...A buddy of mine said he'd give me a C-6 Automatic no charge, from a 5.8. The question is...Is mine beyond repair? Sometimes, it won't come out of second. I'll go to hammer it to make a yellow, and it won't even kick down! I checked the kickdown, and that's okay...I'm at a loss!
Would a C-6 Fit onto my Engine? Are different year Tranny's and engines mateable? Thank in advance!

A C-6 will work, but you will loose your Overdrive. Those are only 3 speeds. I would just get your rebuilt.
