My 1989 Ranger lasted 14 years (186K miles) with the original alternator. I traded it in on the F150, as it was still in working condition. In fact, the Ranger refused to die!!!

My 98 F150 has 50k on it and I recently upgraded my 95 amp alternator to a new OEM 130 amp alternator I bought on eBay for $59.

We have the original alternator on our 97 Lariat. The truck was one of the first ones on the west coast (ordered when word of the new body style came out in 96). The thing is still going strong!
