Any 5.4 regardless of year model could have the problem your talking about. Most of the time the hose only leaks when its new or when someone has been working in that area. If its leaking just tighten it a little or worse case replace the clamp.

If you have a squeeze type clamp you must replace it. Most of the ones I've seen leak however have been worm clamps. The hose clamp on the heater hose that comes directly out of the intake seems to be the only one I've seen with reoccuring leaks.

Question hummm,are you talking..

about the hose that comes off the top of the thermostat housing?? That seems to be a factory compressed calmp.Where that hose enters the firewall I cant tell what type of clamp it is. Thats why I was asking if the 2001's leaked or did they change something<now Im real confused

No its the heater hose. Its 3/4 inch hose that goes from the right rear of the intake to the heater core

The problems were corrected in the 2000 model year Not sure when but they went to a different type clamp (a factory compressed type) to prevent the leak over #4 coil. I saw one today at the garage where I work. I was told that the worm or latter type clamp didnt work very well.

Just leave the factory clamp in place and install a worm clamp in front of and behind that clamp. It stopped my leak...
