Question Optima or Exide Orbital

Been hearing good things about the Exide on 4x4 pages, but I've never heard of them. I want to replace the factory Motorcraft in my 2001 F-150 4x4. I am also running an 80A / 1,500W amp to power my sub while driving. Which should I get, and what model in that particular brand? Know a good place to buy online or is my best bet locally? Thanks!!!

Get a PC1700 from these guys.

www.odysseyfactory.com

And here is the cheapest place to get them.

www.batteries4everything.com

I've got a PC1200 in my Xterra and I can run my stereo, high beams, winch, and off road lights all at the same time with no problems.

The specs show the Optima Red top to be a little bit better. More CCA, and more capacity.

Cool

HI!... I've been running a OPTIMA yellow top deep cycle battery in my truck for about 2 years now. I luv it. My truck fires up twice as fast as it did with the stock battery. Also when at the dragstrip, I can leave both my electric fans on and my tranny cooler fan for at least an hour and it still fires up with no problems. That's like a 80AMP draw without the truck running. Best battery I've ever owned.

I run Optima Red in truck and Optima Blue Deep Cycle in my boat to run the stereo system and have it hooked up with a battery switch and another starting battery and the deep cycle holds a charge very well .

Excuse my ignorance, you guys, but what is the difference (must be amps) between the colored tops? Blue is for marine use, but what about red and yellow? After headers, an Optima is on my list of things to do.

Thanks,

Matt

WOW... Neal that's cool to hear !! Just got a Yellow..........RED is for regular starting,YELLOW is a deep cycle battery ,which can be discharged to low levels and then charged back up without the battery life being effected.......BLUE is a deep cycle marine type with wing nut top posts...... http://www.optimabatteries.com/

There are actually two Blue top Optimas one is a deep cycle the other is a starting battery. Blue tops are for Marine with the wing nuts posts. The blue starting is the exact same if memory serves me just with the wing nut posts.
