cooling fan question

I notice that when I first start my truck, it sounds like the cooling fan engages and then disengages with only about 10 seconds between starting and stopping and it continues to do this. Is this normal or is my fan clutch shot? Thank you!

Mine kicks in for about 3 or 4 seconds. I think it needs to have some cold air across it to disengage the clutcth. May be that the clutch retains its position from when you turn the engine off. I don't think its a problem. Noise is a little annoying.

We asked that same question earlier this year:

It looks like they all work that way, some fan blades just make more noise, and are more noticeable.
