Thumbs up P_Ferlow and Conner

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you guys. Busy with truck and house. Thanks for your ideas about my tranny. It turns out that I burned up my OD and 3rd gear. Tranny shop has it now. replacing the TC also. Should have it back by tomorrow. They are also putting a shift kit in it too. Just wanted to say thanks for the help, and for getting me an answer so fast. I just can't believe that Ford dealer didn't really know what to tell me other than just "shotgun" parts at it. thanks again for your help. This a great site!! have a great day. Gerry

sorry it wasn't as simple (and as inexpensive) as an ac compressor. wow, o.d and 3rd gear. sounds like that could have left you walking if it had gotten any worse before you figured it out. let us know how you like the shift kit--i've been thinking about one for the expedition.

good luck, conner

I can't even remember what advice I gave you. Oh well, glad you got it solved.

Now, before you go driving around too much on those new (expensive) parts, think about getting yourself a B&M plate-style transmission cooler and hook it up after your factory cooler in the radiator. Cheap insurance.

All of the reading I've done lately on automatic trannies shows that too much fluid heat is the #1 killer.

Hey grinomyte, seems our post count is reversed on here!

I'm also on the forums at www.termpro.com once in a "blue moon" and www.2cpu.com under a different alias.

I usually post questions here as well as www.fordf150.net but response is always good here because of the large user base.

Never-the-less I like the "small community" feeling at fordf150.net if you know what I mean.

I shot Kelly an email on what forum software he's using, hasn't replied yet... well I haven't checked my email (not home right now) today.

I've set up www.naturalhealthcoalition.ca and will add some forums to it later on.

Yup, the reading is definitely good here. (sorry to hi-jack this thread by the way )

Lately I've been downloading and reading the magazine www.homepower.com and they have a neat article on making your own bio-diesel fuel from vegetable oil.

Pretty neat stuff, now if only Ford would make a diesel for the F-150!!!!

Red face Update

Conner, the shift kit isn't a high performance kit, its just one to clear up a TSB on my tranny. But, a tranny rebuild and a TPS change later, hopefully I'll have cleared up my problem. I've driven the truck before the TPS change and it shifted great!! But it still wanted to slip out of overdrive, so the tranny shop is changing that for free, and gave me a rental car because I had to bring it back. I hope this clears it up. I miss my truck!! I'll let y'all know more later. I'll try to post some pics of it. Nothing special, stock everything, but, thinking of some mods( which ones, I don't know). Thanks for everyones help. Didn't know what to expect when I first posted, but its a great site.....Gerry
