intake moan

I know this has been posted a million times, but bear with me. . .

I first tried to fix the problem about two years ago. I have a 97 4.6L.

The little black box is still installed.

I got the little metal cylinder with the hole in it from Airraid and while it lessened the noise, it is still there; not really fixed.

Has there been any findings in the two years since I first tried to fix the problem?

I just did a search and came across this:

"Call K&N -800-858-333-, tell them that you have a FIPK on a 4.6L. The dealer replace my clutch at 19,000 miles on my 4th visit trying to fix the HUM " thanks ford ". There is a problem w/ the " black gaskets " in cold climates, they sent me replacements that are orange/red. Will install on Sat. Bill45's fix is also suggested by K&N"

Are these orange/red gaskets the answer or is there something else that I have missed?

thanks for any help,
josh
