Fuel Additives?
I was wondering.... The ford people said that they put their own kind of engine cleaner in when you get you oil changed, serviced, or whatever. I thought those were gimmicks. Do they work? What does the ford dealership use? I have changed my own oil the last 4 or 5 times and didn't put any gasoline cleaner or oil cleaner in. Any advice?

As far as which additive Ford uses, I am not sure. There are a few out there that do work well. There are several threads that discuss different additives people use. Look those up and do your own research. It is like so many other things, what your prefference is.
I will add one bottle every time I change the oil. Doesn't hurt. I didn't notice it when I filled up one time, that the tanks were being filled while I was pumping the fuel in my truck. I had to change the f/filter shortly after. It must have stired up all the stuff on the bottom of the tank and right into the tank of my truck it went. It also was running a little rough at idle after the filter change. I put a cleaner in and it smoothed out after about 3 hours driving.

The stuff the dealer uses comes in a flat red opaque bottle. As for the name...I vaguely remember somthing like DOC or AOC. The name doesn't matter. All they use is a Fuel system cleaner at oil change. You can't go wrong with Techron or Redline SI-1.
