Question fuel filter

I own a 98 2WD 4.6L. I was attempting to change the fuel filter yesterday and the hoses will not come off of the old one? Shouldn't they just pull off? Is there a special tool that is needed?

thanks,

Wes

Run down to Napa ($10) and get a tool meant for the filter.
Autozone has a universal kit that works alright $6.

There is a special tool needed to remove the hoses. I got mine at Autozone for like 3.00. I cant remember what is was called but I found it by the hoses. Its a little package with different color pieces for different sizes. Hope this helps.
