What is more powerful...A 1994 5.8 engine, or a 2003 5.4 engine? I was just curious...

 

the advances in technology in the last 10 years are amazing, your 1994 351 lighning motor made 240 hp if i remember correctly and probably 300 something lbs of torque, the 351 is a torque motor. the brand new 5.4 makes 260 hp and 350 lbs of torque at 2500rpm. just a side note, the current spec 5.4 puts out more HP than a 1990 chevy 454ss pickup, , but as there is no replacement for displacement, doesnt have QUITE as much torque

 

if I remember correctly, the 89ish to 93ish 5.8 was rated for 200 HP, the 5.0 was something like 170 or 180.
