pcv valve making noise

pcv valve making noise

I'm having problems with the pcv valve or something relted to it....I'm getting a rattle sound when I turn off my engine from the pcv valve I replaced it and still have the same problem...is there something else causing this problem taking it to the dealer was no help....need some help with this please

I own a 1999 f-150 with a 4.6...I would like to know what the problem might be so I can go back to the dealer and have what ever it could be fixed

the PCV valve is...

located on the pass.side valve cover,center,it removes gases from the block which the engine burns off...it operates in conjunction with the vacume of the engine...are you sure it's the valve your hearing?...if the engines off the vacume is too so you should'nt be hearing anything...you may be mistaking the A/C for that noise

Ventilator

It uses engine vacum to purge engine blowby gases and other gaseous impurities from the crankcase and other areas of your motor.

Its suposed to rattle if you shake it w/ the engine off. I'm not sure about it making any noise after shutting off the engine though.

I put my hand on the pvc valve and had someone shut off the engine and I could fell it rattleing up and down...what happens if it wasn't hooked up at the other end..and I just recently had my a/c redone had to replace the a/c compreeor and orifues tube could something been done wrong?

the only thing...

I can think of drawing air back up through the valve would be the power assist on the brakes....check the check valve on the drum and see if it isn't stuck open

thanks guy's for your help I'll take it back to the dealer to have it looked at...hope solves the problem...will this damage anything else?

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you, i was just trying to show everybody who isnt familliar with it, what the pcv valve looks like.

Ill go try and put out the flames now.
