DPFE sensor hoses?

Im just curious is anyone has ever encountered a problem where the hoses pop off the DPFE sensor? Im not getting any codes but under heavy acceleration the hoses pop off. Im assuming that perhaps this is an indicator of reduced flow by the cats.

To me, this indicates that maybe the hose that is popping off is clogged. You may want to remove and clean all of the hoses as well as the EGR pipe.

My DPFE hoses are so tight that I'd have to cut them off.

Cool

HI!... ZYG : As I posted on the other site, your DPFE hoses getting literly blown off is a indication that one or more of your CATS has a upstruction in it or plugged up. Does it happen at only 3/4 throttle or more? Have you noticed your MPG now sucks since it has started doing this? Are you WAY down on power? If you answered"YES" to the above questions then you 99% have a clogged CAT. These are the EXACT same symptoms my truck had when I found out that one of the CATS on my driver's side broke up internally and ended up "CORKING" up the seconday CAT almost completely. Here a few pics for everyone else to see. I know you ZYG have already seen these.

Yep, saw your other reply NEAL, thanks, and thats exactly what I think it is but just looking for more experiences. How many miles did you have on your truck when you had the problem?

The delima I am running into is that most people wont touch the cats here in minnesota if they are under warranty, I dont even have 15k on the truck yet but warranty on cats is likely void due to my supercharger. I would like to go with some high flow cats, but since our trucks have 4, most shops expect to put 4 back on and there just isnt room if I use a universal high flow cat.

HI!... ZYG : I had about 100,000KMS on my truck when I ran into problems with my cats. Usually the cause of clogged cats or broken internally cats is your running way too rich or way to lean. My case was I was running WAY too lean. That's what I get for not getting to the dyno and getting a dyno tune. If your looking for a good set of aftermarket CATS then get yourself a set of MAGNAFLOW/s high flow S/S cats. I removed the 4 cats on my truck and replaced them with the MAGNAFLOW high flow cats. The good thing about the MAGNAFLOW cats is that they are one of the only aftermarket cats you can install on thesetruck and not get the SES light when reducing down to two cats. How I figured out it ws my cats was easy. Take your truck for a long ride. Come back home and park it. Let about an hour go buy and then get under the truck and start touching your cats with your hands. When I did this on my truck, all the cats were just barely warm but one was still super hot. That was the cat that was broken internally.

With my previous tune A/F was ok, not nice and flat like I wanted but shouldnt have been a problem and it wasnt throwing any codes. I have been running an ATI blower with stick fuel system and 9psi boost and didnt notice any problems. However, once I put in #42's, 90mm MAFm 75mm TB and 12 PSI as well as a larger in tank pump is when it started popping the hoses. It is running rich now and I have a new tune on the way but it popped hoses off the first test drive after mods. With that in mind I am assuming the cats are not super plugged but plugged enough to offer a significant increase in back pressure now that I am running 12psi.

With your magnaflow cats, what did you do with the 4 stock o2 sensors?

HI!... ZYG : Well I'm also running JDM/KOOKS S/S long tube headers. There is already a welded in "BUNG" for the upstream O2 sensors in the collectors. I then carefully cut out the stock O2 "BUNGS" from the stock exhaust and rewelded them into my new system. I welded them in about 4 inches behind each CAT.
