PCM question
PCM question
If I am able to use the datalink port to access information, does that mean that the PCM is operational or can it still be bad?
Also, if I were to buy a PCM does it have to be programmed, or do I just need to get the correct PCM for my model and such?
Thanks,
Ray

Bite the Bullet
Take it to the Dealer and have them check it out. It could be something simple. My dealer only charged me 1.5 hours labor. And yes I did need a PCM, but I'd have hated to spend $300 if all it was, was a $25 relay.
Just make sure when they quote a price on the PCM, you let them know there cost is $250.
Mine couldn't be read at all or reflashed with the factory program. I'm pretty sure it comes ready to run. They would order the same model (code number) as you currently have so it would have the same program.
Good luck and let me know what happens.
