Cool

Having to drive with both feet to keep it running ?

Could be a vacuum leak. Check all of the major vacuum lines under the hood. That's the 1st place I'd look, with the info you've given...

Good luck !!

You don't say how many miles are on your truck. Since it is a 98 I am figuring its somewhere around 40,000 - 60,000 or more. Have you ever had the fuel filter changed? If not you might want to do that. It may or may not help but it would be about time to change it.

Check the EGR valve

Had one stick on my outlaws Town Car... drove almost 400 miles through KY using both feet. Just an idea.

If the 98 mod has one have the IAC valve checked, I have heard of some people having luck by just tapping on it with the plastic handle of a screwdriver or removeing it and cleaning it with throttle body cleaner but if it is determined to be bad it would probably be best to replace it.

Thumbs up IT HAS BEEN HEALED

I thank you all for your advice, the last posted message turned out to be correct the Idle Air Control Valve(IAC) was stuck with a lot of carbon buildup, also asked Shop Foreman at local Dealership he also said either Tap it to lossen it up, or if Carbon Buildup is excessive taopping won't work, needs cleaning, with Carb. Cleaner. This is a tempoary solution replacement is the long term solution. Unfortuantly funds short at this time so I'll wait until next Pay day. Well thanks to all and Hope it helps someone out there either now or in the future.

I had the same problem with my 98 and it ended up being condensation from the A/C dripping onto the oxygen sensor and shorting it out. Glad you found the problem.
