Crankcase Breather

Wanted to know if adding a chrome screw in crankcase breather to my 2001 NA 5.4L would monkey with anything engine monitoring wise (or other)? Are there any other negatives from doing this add?

I'm interested in adding this piece for aesthetics only, since it's a chrome topped Ford Racing item. Just trying to add another shiny piece to my truck.

Any thoughts?????

Cool

HI!... The aftermarket crankcase breather is only for those who have severely modded N/A trucks/aftermarket SC'ed trucks, or LIGHTNING's. In 98% of the cases a modded or SC'ed engine will suck engine oil from the PCV valve and into the TB/TB ELBOW leaving a gooey oily residue. When installing a breather it will screw up your AIR/FUEL ratio's at idle and at crusing speeds. It will not effect WOT A/F RATIO'S. You will need a custom program on a chip to compensate for the A/F problem.

Thanks Neal..... Should've known. Read the advertising 'real' close and even asked if it would create any issues on my truck, and the response was 'no'. Now I've got a nice shiny doo-dad on my workbench that I can't use. Anybody want it? Make whoever wants it a super deal (i.e. I'll take the stupid penalty markdown).
