Thumbs up Errors P0171 & P0174

Hey everyone, great site, Just wanted to share some info,
My 98 f150 check engine light came on about couple of months ago. After trouble-shooting and reading on the web, I tried changing plugs, wires, resetting the computer, and cleaning MAF and checked ICA, but the truck would still idle rough, I was told the problem would cost about $600.00 dollars to fix at the dealer. I said forget it, well today I decide to try again, I found a small hole on the PCV Elbow vacuum hose, Cost $3.57, Reset the computer!!!!
Problem fixed.

thanks everyone for the info!!!!!

I would hope that you would go back to the dealer and let them know what you found. Oh...I'd take the receipt for the $3.57 just for the H**L of it. I'd be interested in their comment/s.

Exclamation

I had code PO171, and it was the MAF. I love the fact that they didn't even try to cut me a break for having a K&N intake. They charged the full 1.5 hours for four bolts and two hose clamps,,,,98
