coolant leak

I have a 97 F150 4.6 108000mi Had to get the heater core replaced last month. I went out this morning and noticed a constant drip of coolant from the front part of the motor. Couldn't tell if it was coming from the water pump but it is dripping from the bottom of the crankshaft pully.
I started the truck let it idle for 15 min. Now there is no sign of a leak.
I read several post on the '97 V6 coolant problems but didn't see anything about the 4.6 V8s
Any input would be appreciated. (this truck is begging to be traded!)
