check engine

I was driving on day and just happened to notice that my check engine light was on. I have af-1 intake, supertruck exhaust, and superchip. just did the 30,000 mile check up about 4000 miles ago. I have 39,000 on my truck now. any ideas what could have caused this.

Wow... I didn't realize there was so much involved. Thanks Mike Troyer. Also... you sell superchips or are you just a distributor for vendors?
saw this on another thread. asking mike that question would be about as dumb as asking if you are Talleywacker.

why the games? you have way to much knowledge (and to many other places to share it) to go around asking questions you already know the answers to.

A bit harsh on the comments Brotherdave.

Hotshot -any symptoms?
You should have the codes read by someone with a OBDII scanner ( Autozone will do it) to ID the problem. I think you will need to remove the chip in order to read the codes.

Just this:

"why the games? you have way to much knowledge (and to many other places to share it) to go around asking questions you already know the answers to."

Not that I should be judging what you say or don't say. For this I apologize. I just find Talley to be very informative and helpful and don't want him to forget us over here. Thats all.

You might want to get it checked out. Most likely it's a false alarm. It could be your gas tank sensor. When it detects outside pressure or oxygen, or something like that (im not too sure) that will set it off. Just keep your gas cap on tight. Mines been set off simply by bumping a curb (before I got 20's). Had it checked and nothing came up. Just take it to autozone to read out the code. Hope I'm some help.

Try cleaning the MAF. I think the oil from the filter gets on the little wire in the sensor and throws a code.

Good luck,
Mike
